It's The Only Thing That Worked to Make Me Workout!

Image
A photo with Charlie! I grew up asthmatic. As a kid, when I play, I didn't enjoy the idea of having to run back home after a good time with friends because I was having difficulty breathing. This is why I've consciously avoided rigorous activities. I have also shunned away from an important activity that has many great benefits but many of us find tiring to do - working out. Then, one day, in October 2018, an Instagram page called The Pilates MVMT followed my account. Intrigued about what it was, I visited their IG page. To my pleasant surprise, I fell in love at first sight with the photos. They showed beautiful and subtle plants inside a studio. The place seemed serene. Next, I googled what Pilates was about. After reading and learning about it, I decided to change my life for the better. It was when I said: "I'm going to try exercising. I'm going to do Pilates." So I did. And I have no regrets! It was because of The Pilates MVMT and the instructor named J

Your Struggles Don't Make You A Failure

Beautiful image from Oriol Angrill Jordà | IG: @oriolangrill | Website: oriolangrill.com You're struggling to make sense of the world around you now. Everything seems topsy-turvy. The fire that once blazed inside your soul is fading; the drive that you had deep within you is decelerating. You wanted this year to be the time to upgrade yourself. To change for the better. So, you filled your life with a list - containing the plans you have for yourself - ready to be ticked off, ready to be conquered. Better career, learn new skills, date that special someone, travel to a place you've always dreamed of, start a new outlook in life. Zest and hope flowed in your veins. Inspiration was abundant anywhere you look.  Then, all of a sudden, a black out happens. Everything goes dark. A few moments passed and there's light again. Only this time, you look around and realize the world has changed. Now, life is different. Your sadness is unmistakably filling up to the brim. I feel your s

The Strongest Force is A Mother's Love

Image
A mother's love is the strongest force I've ever come to face. The kind of love that seems to withstand any challenges, any obstacles, any fears for the family's sake. A mother's love bears all hardships and melt them into a gentle care. You can feel it by the way they touch you, how they speak to you, and how they see you. It's as though they've never been hit by a terrible storm in their lives. It makes you ask: " How can this person can still be so gentle despite what life has done to her?" .  A mother's love makes her smile warmly. This love radiates. It makes her glow. Whatever troubles her, her love immensely overpowers it. Sometimes it makes you wonder. "Am I even worthy of receiving my mother's love?" . So many times have I felt I wasn't a good daughter to her. There were many moments when I would push back, fight, and shout for what I think is correct. It pains her I know. It hurts her. But a mother's love is stronger

My Simple Gaming Setup & How I Learned Important Life Skills Through Gaming

A wise man once told me, "You have to try playing more games with other people. The more defeats that you experience, the more you grow your patience, and the more you'll strive to become better at the game." I jokingly rolled my eyes at his advice, feeling bitter about losing in an online game we both were playing. Then, I shrugged my shoulders and decided to move on, laughing at the experience. Well, if you had not already guessed, the wise man in this story is Alex. 😉 Gaming as our pastime and a hobby. One thing about me is that I get quite frustrated when I lose. Being someone competitive, I like to win and I put it in my effort to make sure it happens. However, because I give it my best and still taste the bitterness of losing, it then makes me feel irritable. That's why when I started immersing myself more in the world of gaming, I became vulnerable to the bitter taste of defeat. A taste I didn't like. Along the way, I came to realize
