Here's to Anyone Who's Still Figuring Things Out

I'm in awe of your courage.

Every day, you wake up and give yourself another chance despite not knowing what lies ahead. Every day, you muster the strength to move forward despite the uncertainty and doubt that fills your every step. Your genuine kindness radiates and it shows in your face without you knowing, inspiring the people around you. Some days may not be so good and you sometimes feel like the world is on your shoulders, yet, you still have the heart to worry about others and the people that you care about.  Some days bring you happy moments and the way you smile when things go your way, when the weather is good, when you are appreciated, and when you finally acknowledge your own efforts is priceless. I wish you could see it for yourself.

You may be scared now. Terrified, even; that there are still many things that you need to figure out in your life at the moment and that they often do not make sense. Here's a little secret between you and me - your feelings are valid. I agree with you. If I could make an honest confession, I am scared too. But you know what's awesome about feeling this way? It's that every time that we choose to show a little bit of courage by waking up each day, by being kind, by showing our smile to the world in spite of all that we're going through, we are already progressing.

Little by little, we will get to where we want to be. In each humble step that we take, we will someday become who we want to be. Figuring out doesn't necessarily mean reaching the finish line or achieving a perfect life. Sometimes it means choosing for ourselves - a life where we could be contented to live in and where we could flourish as we are.

Love,
From the woman who also have not yet figured things out and just turned 25 -
Mary Jedde.

  1. It's so fascinating how much I relate to this. I needed this encouragement right now, really. I'm suppose to greet you, but when I read this, it greeted me instead. Hahaha. You deserve everything good, Jedde. You inspire me in ways I couldn't find in someone else in my generation. Happy Birthday!
